The new [VFT Extended DApp Frontend Integration Guide](https://wiki.gear.foundation/docs/examples/Standards/vft-frontend) walks developers through setting up a React app that interacts with the [Vara Fungible Token (VFT)](https://wiki.vara.network/docs/examples/Standards/vft) program using sails-js React hooks. VFT Extended is used because it’s one of the most common contract standards for tokens on Vara. However, the same frontend setup and integration workflow can be applied to any custom Gear Program.

L2 solutions emerged as Ethereum’s primary strategy to tackle scalability challenges, dramatically boosting network capacity and significantly reducing transaction fees. According to Ethereum Foundation reports, L2 rollups have scaled Ethereum’s transaction throughput nearly 17 times, decreasing fees from upwards of $50 per swap to mere cents. This shift has enabled rapid growth and the influx of millions of new users and applications into the Ethereum ecosystem.
